Volunteers are needed at the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans/Core Element Community STEM Fest on Saturday, October 20th! Over 7000 people are expected to attend. This event will be held at the Superdome at 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive, New Orleans, LA 70112. Core Element is an organization promoting quality teaching in K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) within six parishes in the Greater New Orleans area. The event runs from 10:00am-2:00pm and volunteers are needed during the following times:
– 8:00am-11:00am – Set-Up and Event Start: Assist with exhibitor load-in and setup; directing crowds; assisting with exhibitor booths; etc.
– 9:30am-12:00pm – Event Support: Assist with crowd control and way finding; Exhibitor resource including but not limited to staffing booths, handing out promotional items, assisting with booth activities, etc.
– 1:00pm-3:30pm – Event Support and Load-Out: Assist with wrapping up the event; clean up; and exhibitor move out.
– All Day – 8:00am-3:30pm – Helping with all of the above
Volunteers will receive free admission. Students will be given a School of Science and Engineering t-shirt to wear during the event.
